Unsaturated Heparin Disaccharides
The unsaturated heparin disaccharides are produced by the action of bacterial heparinase on high grade porcine heparin and isolated by high resolution gel filtration and ion exchange chromotography. The enzyme action results in a C4-C5 double bond in uronic acid (∆UA) that absorbs at 232 nm.
