Chondroitin Sulphate Polymers
We offer four Chondroitin Sulphate polymers. The CS-D polymer has 18% CS-D units (GlcA, 2S - GalNAc, 6S). The two CS-E products have differing degrees of additional 6-O-sulphation to 4-O-sulphated GalNAc residues. The CS-E polymers are derived from bovine tracheal chondroitin sulphate A (CS-A) and are chemically treated to form chondroitin sulphate E (CS-E) which is widely involved in mammalian cell growth and differentiation. The additional 6-O-sulphate groups are introduced specifically by chemical means (to form 4,6-di-O-sulphated GalNAc substituted residues) and the products analysed by 1H NMR spectroscopy and by disaccharide analysis following depolymerisation with chondroitinase ABC.
These products can be used to examine biological effects in cell and tissue-based assays, employed as protein binding partners or in competition processes, especially involving comparisons between the effects of different levels of 4,6-di-O-sulphated GalNAc residues in chondroitin sulphates.
